Trip to San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park (DUW)
Last week I took a few days off and went to the SD Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Seaworld and Universal Studios with my son. In spite of the 90+ degree heat we still had a great time. :) My son really enjoyed the herp section at the SD Zoo, and he especially got a kick out of one little boy that was passing by the cages and commented on how the Woma python was a Rattlesnake and was "mean". He then commented on how the snake in the next cage was "nice"... which happened to be a Green Mamba. :8:
Here are just a few pics from the trip:
Hungry Hungry Hippo

great pics lawrence, always have to love zoo pics. the forgotten snake looks to be a eyelash viper too, actually i lied, it looks like one of the malaysian pit vipers, like a kanburian or something similar but not completely sure. either way love the pics, thanks

Re: Trip to San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park (DUW)
wow! really nice pics! as i was looking through, i told myself, "i'm gonna comment on this one and that one," but i said that for like all of them so i'll just say that they were all awesome!
Re: Trip to San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park (DUW)
Thanks! The SD Zoo used to be kind of depressing with a lot of small enclosures for the large mammals, but they've recently updated and given large open spaces for their bears, primates, lions/tigers etc.
Oh, and you might be right about it being an Eyelash Viper. It does look similar to some of the mature viper pics I've been able to find.

I was positive it was a green phase eyelash until after i posted it, then I was like uhhh uhhh but you can't see the head, then went back and edited my post and now realize i sounded like an idiot. But yeah, my first and strongest thought was green phase eyelash

LOL. I'd love to Tyree but I don't think I'll be back for a few more years. L.A. traffic is a nightmare! :frustrate :rolleye2:
