How many is good? Great? bad?
Post your thoughts. How many red saddles on a Colombian Red Tail are good? What is bad? What is impossible? Use the poll to express your closest opinions and PLEASE post your thoughts!

    Thanks!

i love the monstertails with the huge red tails, BUT I don't think the quality of a boas tail can be counted in saddles just the colors and patterns

I got a lot of "Quality" but none explaining why and what is considered "quality". Anyone?

Hmmm, can you go a little further with this thought please? I think I understand, but my mind is REALLY tired right now, lol.

I'll post after enough answers why I want to know. This isn't a vain empty poll. Thanks!

Maybe some of you who own red tails can tell me how many red saddles yours has! That would be helpful too! Thank you!

hm, lets see first of all I'd be hard pressed to find a boa I did not like, but where are you starting your red saddle count from? all the way down the tail to the very tip? or actual saddles? Also I know you're talking Colombians but take for example a classic suriname with a low saddle count, but the large area rich red saddles. I'm a real big fan of pattern abberancies, so maybe I'll throw things off, but something like, bear with me, not really red but a pearlescent from Jeff Ronne where I would consider that nice long tail stripe a red saddle (if it were red). Or take the amarali's (brazilians especially) whose bare patterns and low saddle counts make for a striking constrast between the grey to just that little bit of bright red is just beautiful.
I also might be partial but I love my little girls tail http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...uefields/0.jpg
sorry this was a little all over the place, just examples how you can't really count by saddle number, I'm also tired and not thinking straight. But I'm sorry if this doesn't help whatever project you're working on if thats what it is.

Yeah, I am fully in agreement about the quality vs saddle count. I should have never even put that part into the poll, it was only supposed to be funny, hence the "lol" in it...oh well. We'll see what happens with it.

I dunno, I'm sure there are some purists that think a perfect boa should have X number of saddles, so I don't think it was a silly idea at all. Always good to know what people think.

I don't know of any purists of col. boas, but it's possible there are in locales about saddle count? I find beauty in pretty much ever boa i've seen, saddle count is the last thing i see!
