    Ohh No. Snake MIA
So I just came back from a 3-day trip and went to change the water in the tank. Uh oh.. no snake. The lid was cracked a little, I don't think it was that way when I left? I've already done a quick search with no luck. This sucks because I have a 2 story house with tons of boxes and little places it could be.

What's the best way to search?? Is there any way to coax it out? I have a tank of mice a room or so away, do you think it would be camping out in that room or go towards the smell?

    Any help is appriciated

There are a few tricks some folks have used or suggest....for us one was missing for 4 days...we found her on the 4th day no more then 1/4 foot from her tub...same with the other one who went missing twice..she was with in 2 feet of her home...you can use the search up top and find a million threads on little tricks an such...good luck!

A couple thread's with some tips...

I also just recently had a snake out on the prowl. He was out for maybe 2 days. Found him in the drawer of the oven.

Oh and btw my snakes are kept in a upstairs bedroom. He got out and made his way down to the 1st floor.

Yeah, that's EXACTLY what I thought! Untill I found him. I actually heard him move one of my pans.

I know I read somewhere on here about a couple of tricks you can to. I think I remember reading something about a mouse or rat and a soda bottle.

The only thing I really did was set up a heating pad with his hides on top of it. I had that up in the room he got out of. But that didn't really do me any good b.c he had already gotten out of that room.

Good luck! All sorts of different things you can try....turning heat off in house except one room, a mouse/rat in a cage, flour along walls or in front of doorways to see his travel path.

Use the search for the different threads. Just remember, even if it looks too small a space, it probably ISN'T. (Unless your escapee is 3' long and 2-3 lbs. ....then there would be some places that would be too small. ;)

Exactly...when Willow A.K.A Big Willy got out she weighed 2190 grams...I thought HA I will find her fat ass in no time...I still have no idea where in the room she was for 4 whole days...but when I came in to feed she was slithering across the floor like she owned the place. Of course she started a fast 2 weeks prior to the escape (rumors is she was trimming down to squeeze out lol) and has been on the same fast since *sighs* she was my best eater to :(

My adult ball I've found btwn Robins mattress & the wall (the bed sits on two boxsprings < no frame >, once in the file cabinet drawer, and once in the bedroom closet. Kishnah's escape events found him under the rat cages in Robin's room, and along the wall on the shelf of the boxsprings of Robin's bed.

I've posted about Oreo's escapades and finding Kaa in the back of the stove.

Luckily, he's the only fatality, and the other escapees were found w/in a day or two.

Many years ago I made the mistake of falling asleep holding my 4ft king snake in the living room (downstairs). Roughly a year later I found him all nice and fat in my desk drawer (upstairs). It was pretty crazy.
