My bro is home!! And friends!!
Well my brother just got home about 5 minutes ago and he brought the whole gang back with him. Couple geckos, couple corns, red tail, and 2 brand spanking new viper boas. What this thread is for is, what have you guys heard about these. It's a pair of wild caughts and from what i've heard, they havn't been succesfully breed in the U.S. yet and that's what he's hoping to do. What have you guys heard or what are your thoughts. I can prolly post a few picks later.
Re: My bro is home!! And friends!!
I really like em as long as they are established eaters. Just read a few care sheets to make sure you got everything down. They are also easy to keep, they only have to eat about every 4-5 weeks for adults and they will stay healthy
Re: My bro is home!! And friends!!
Viper boas rock, but aren't they slightly poisonous? I'm gonna check that, but I'm almost positive they are. I'm also pretty sure they have and are bred here, but not a hot item for sale due to their nasty tempers.
Here's a good caresheet on them

Re: My bro is home!! And friends!!
I don't think so Jimi. In their natural range, they are killed because they look a lot like venomous vipers hence the name, viper boa lol
Re: My bro is home!! And friends!!
No, they arn't venomous. They just try to be by looking like death adders. They arn't nippy from what iv'e seen but that doesn't mean im not watching out for it.
Re: My bro is home!! And friends!!
mine is mean as hell. as hell, they have been bred before, but the babies are difficult to feed, but not as hard as the other candoia from what i've heard, but then again mine doesn't eat very well either.
Re: My bro is home!! And friends!!
They don't need much food. 1 time a month isn't uncommon for an adult to eat, even babies don't need much food. Just make sure you have a supplier of tree frogs, anoles, or house geckos if you do breed. Babies can take a lot of work to get onto mice
