Pink Ventral Scales

I just recieved an adult female Ball Python from somone who couldnt take care of her anymore, and I discovered that her ventral scales are rather pink. My guess was that the previous owner did not clean the cage very often, I was just wondering if anyone thinks that I am correct with that assumption, or if they know any other possible action that would lead to the pink coloring of the ventral scales and how to rid of it, if it is reversable.

If the skin appears healthy and the pink haze covers all ventral scales, chin to tail-tip, then it's quite possible she's just going into shed. Other indicators would be an overal darker-than-normal body colour (might be hard for you to gauge if she's new) followed by blue-hazed eyes.

If the skin is irritated/red/weepy/crusty then that's a disease procces (injury, burn, scale rot) and she should be seen by a herp vet and kept on dry paper for substrate until she can be professionally evaluated.

Yeah, it doesnt cover all the scales, it only covers the scales closer to the vent, like about ten inches or so, but it doesnt look too bad, she was also dehydrated when I got her so I dont know if dehydration could have something to do with it.
