Eye Dents
I just got a new ball python from someone who couldnt keep her anymore, and she has dents on her eyes, at first I thought she didnt shed her eye caps, but then realized that they are just dents on her eyes, I heard that this would happen if the humidity was too low, if I increased the humidity would they go away.

Re: Eye Dents
soak her to hydrate her and then raise her humidity in her enclosure

Re: Eye Dents
Yes, it sounds like she is dehydrated. Raise the humidity, and you can even offer a humid hide as well. It should right itself soon.

Re: Eye Dents
is it possible for a BP to get dehydrated if the humidity is between 50 - 60 % and they always have frech clean water? I ask this because one of my males had both eyes dented the other night. However my humidity was 56% in his cage. I sprayed him down and gave a few shots in the cage. i returned a while later and his eyes wer back to normal.

Re: Eye Dents
I had that problem a couple times while using a tank. I found that the humidity inside the hide was WAY lower than that of the general tank. I added a humid hide and never had that issue again.

Re: Eye Dents
One of my rescues, an adult female who is 5-6 years old, had dents in her eyes when I first got her. After a few sheds, constant 50-60% humidity and access to clean water 24/7, her eyes are normal again.

Re: Eye Dents
my setup is a rack system, and i keep the room humidity between 50 - 60%, cage humidity always seems to be a little higher than the room.
