question about thermostats
i was just wondering if there was a thermostat out there that could run 2 different set ups (like racks) at 2 different temperatures?
like if i had a set up for ball pythons and a set up for corn snakes, is there a tstat that could control both of them instead of buying 2 seperate ones?
for what i want to do is make a rack, and have it house my bp, and my (soon to be) corn, and keep the correct temps. maybe top half for bps and bottem for corns. is this possible. that way down the road when i add a new animal i won't have to mess with everything.
thank you
Re: question about thermostats
Hi,
It's possible I think - I believe your looking for the ones described as "dual channel" - but they might cost as much as 2 seperate ones and if it fails then it affects all your animals.
It might be possible to put inline dimmers on the heaters (I'm looking into doing this on my rack) so that with the same input from the thermostat a lower temp could be set up via the dimmer to use on the corn shelves.
But again you are putting all your eggs in one basket.

Re: question about thermostats
herpstat has a dual output thermostat. each putput is seperately fused and wired. 2 stats in one case! and the cost of 2 stats also!!
