not going in hides
I don't know whats going on, I've had my bp for about 4 months and haven't had any problems, but today I changed the bark in her tank and shes been out of her hides all day and it curled up in the corner of the tank like she doesn't know where her hides are. I didn't change anything around, and it's the same kind of bark she was on before  The temps I have to admit are still getting back to normal but she hasn't even gone in her hides to check if the temp was the same as before. Now someone will say shes probably stressed or something right? But wouldn't she go in her hides and HIDE if she was!?!

What exactly are your temps and humidity at?

Re: not going in hides
Mine does that sometimes, I have two identical hides on both sides but he likes to wedge himself between the vivarium glass and the hide. 3 sides of the tank are covered with black foam boards so it should feel more "secure". My guess is he just likes the more snug fit. But he eventually moves back into the hides.
I'm sure your snake is similar, and needs to get used to the new bark.

Re: not going in hides
The fact he isn't going back into his hides it not an issue in itself at this point. I have some that never use their hides. If he still eats come feeding day all is good...if not then we can try and figure out is something is wrong. :)

Re: not going in hides
Yea, a couple of mine have been wedging themselves between the walls and the hide, and they always knock over my thermometer lol. Another likes to find itsway under the paper towel that i use. Its just to bad they cant talk to you, only info you get is confortable with you, a nip, or a bite....lol.
