Welcome to the forum! :colbert2:
Advice?
1. Quarantine.
2. Do it for the snakes, not the money.
3. Newspaper substrate.
4. Have fun with the little buggers!

Just offering a cheaper, easily maintainable alternative to the latter. He can use aspen, newpaper, bed a beast, coconut husk whatever..
Just trying to mix it up a little

There's nothing wrong with those. He asked for advice, and I gave him my personal preference. I just find newspaper easier to change and easier to keep clean than those other alternatives. :2cent:

Re: new guy
oh yeah i guess i left out some important info. me and my friend both work at a local pet store so we have a basic understanding of ball python care. before i got into snakes i was really ,really into tarantulas and kept and bred close to 300 individuals so im fairly used to the addictive side to breeding different animals. mostly i want to do this to see what I can produce. the money would really just be to fund more breeding projects. and im a huge researcher thats one of my biggest pet peeves is when people buy an animal, refuse to do any kind of research on how it should be cared for , then want a refund when it dies.

Re: new guy
Welcome to BP.net.
The good news is that if you want to breed now is the time to get started...this years season is effecively over so you have 6-9 months to learn everything you can (this assumes your females will be 1500 grams + by October - otherwise you will need to wait another year)
Like everyone else has said read, study and research (which is sounds like you are willing to do).
Good Luck and let us know how we can help.
