    That's right D!

Here is an old pic of the father. He was sold to me as a marble. He sure as the look but this clutch will prove whether he is or not.

Dang how'd I miss this! Nice big clutch there Mike, and I love that pic of the father too. I really need to get some bloods, been wanting to for a while now, just need some better adult blood-sized caging. Do you house yours in a rack system?

WOW! Is that a normal # of eggs for a blood? The papa is amazing! I'm interested in your response to Evan about the caging too.

I've been admiring bloods for a while but many have talked about how pissy they are so I haven't taken the plunge.

    Evan,

    Thanks!!! :D
I used to keep my bloods in some LARGE tubs in a cheap rack setup. Now that they are larger, it was easier to keep them in actual cages. I built some cages out of MDF to the same size dimensions as the Vision #332, 36" x 24" x 18". these have worked great for me, but if I had to do it over again, I would have built them only 12" - 15" tall. 18" is just too much wasted space.
If I remember correctly, Kara recommends to keep females in 48" x 24" floor space cages and the males she puts in Freedom breeder racks.

Alice, I have seen larger clutches for bloods but this size is typical for this girl.

Really, all snakes can be pissy. From burms to retics and bloods to balls. I generally refer to it is them as "having a bad hair day". I would suggest getting a cbb one at a young age and working with it. They are really fun and as addicting as balls or my morelia!

Everyone has different techniques in working with them so it is a system that you would kind of have to fine tune on your own. If you ever decided to take the plunge, I and many other blood keepers on here would be more than happy to give you any advice you are looking for.
When it comes to bloods, Kara is the guru, and with Cueball working for VPI, I am sure he is a close second!
