    Tiger Salamander.
    Uncommon in N.J. is the Tiger Salamander(ambystoma t. tigrinum)and is on the endangered list here. its one of those look but dont touch species, while out walking today I came across this guy. I have an area that I like to visit that is loaded with these this time of year as they are gathering to breed.:) http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...g?t=1177277465

    Salamanders rock! I remember looking for red back salamanders in the woods around the farm when I was younger, not as exciting as tiger's but still fun to find.

    Tim, you can normally only find them in the early spring when they are moving to the shallow ponds to breed. got some pics of marbled and red back salamanders also, will post them later. of course alot of snake and lots of frog pictures. still picking the ticks off thought.:eek:
