    Have you ever
seen what mischief EIGHT four week old male rats can get into? Scarlett's last litter she had nine males and four females. One of the boys got fed off last week, so there were 12 left.

Since I think she's pregnant and about to drop, I pulled all her babies, split the four girls and put two each with two resting girls and left all the boys together.

They are too funny, racing around the tank, wrestling and bouncing off the walls! They're a lot more interesting than anything on TV! :)

These are siblings, they aren't hurting each other, but I'm sure they're establishing some sort of pecking order with their play.

Whoops, I miscounted - hard to count a bunch of solid black babies who are rolling and tumbling everwhere - there are NINE boys - she had 14 babies, and only four were girls. Since they all look alike it was fun finding the girls this evening! :P

Unless there is a breedable female around most times male rats don't seriously fight with each other especially if they are litter mates or are used to being caged together on and off. Our adult breeder male rats go in and out of the male only tub to breed and the most I generally see on their return is a bit of a boxing match, they get tumbled over and well sniffed and get that look from the other male rats "oh what have you been up to?" LOL Usually within a day they have fit themselves back into their place on the social ladder of rat life.
