I'm thinking about breeding some BP's in the near future. My friend Shannon and I (Tweets4611) are probably going to invest in some racks over the summer, and I really don't know what to start off with. My first thought was to get some Hets, being the poor college students that we are, and to go from there. The morphs that really caught my eye were the Caramel Albinos, High Contrast Albinos, and spiders. I've bred leopard gecko's before, so I have an incubator laying around back at home ( a hobavator, no fan). Would this be ok to use for BP's, or is there another way (preferable under the $500 mark) to get a better incubator.

Hovabators work fine, just set them up with a good digital thermometer.:)

Do not rely on the hovabators own thermostat. They can and do fail in a lot of cases. Always make sure you have a backup thermostat controlling the incubator.

Natures Spirit incubator. Within that price range and an EXCELLENT incubator. Not to mention Casey is awesome to deal with as well.

I've never used a hovabators so I can't help you there, but we did purchase and use a Natures Spirit incubator last year. Temps were well maintained throughout. Great little incubator for the small time hpbbyist who wants to incubate no more than 12 clutches at one time. Good luck on your decision.
