36x24x24 okay for a female BP?
is 36x24x24 okay for a female BP?

I am only asking because I am thinking about purchasing this:

    http://reptiledepot.com/showcase.html

    to house my femal BP
and then below it a crested gecko and I may possibly ad a 3rd box for another animal at the bottom.

also will either animal become stressed by being housed only a level up from each other? I mean they wont be SHARING a box at all EVER. I just want to make sure before I go wasting my money

well I want to buy something that will last her pretty much forvever and she is currently 3 foot almost on the dot (i forgot how old she is, she was a gift but I know shes still young and a very steady eater) I have to ask my cousins of her exact age. I think im gonna go with the 48x18x24 so I can keep her in there even when she is fully grown, unless thats not good for her? what do you think?

Ball pythons actually like smaller tight fitted enclosures. If you keep them in a larger cage i suggest putting a hidebox they can cram into with some space so they can move to the back of the hide (basically they like to feel walls on all sides, but be able to get in the back of the hide... hide their faces). I have had a few snakes over the years that would stop feeding when i moved them into breeder racks 42 qts from 32qts, When i put them back into the 32qts they would start feeding again. My male piebald is the worst about this, he would never feed in a breeder rack and i always had to keep him in a 32qt which i thought was a little small for him, but i found 2 hide boxes that he could cram into and stuck them in a breeder rack... now he feeds just fine in the breeder rack :)

On a side note those cages would work fine, just get good hides...

    Hope this helps

Even the largest of females usually stay in 41 qt racks which are roughly 36x17

Most people say a 30 gallon tank is good for a ball python.
To find the size in gallons:
    (length(in) x width(in) x height(in) ) / 231 = Number of Gallons
    (36x 24 x 24) = 20736 in cube
    20736 / 231 = 90 gallon

    Yeah that's probably good.

It is actually a little bigger than needed and is just wasted space because he wants to stack them. Ball pythons do not need 2 feet of vertical space as they are not arboreal species.
