Thinking ahead...
My BP is going on 1 year old (10 months). I currently I have 9 weeks worth of weanling rats left in my freezer. Those ones don't leave even the slightest visible lump in my snake's stomach. I'm definitely going to finish up what I've got, but where do I go from here? How fast is she going to grow??? (I know it varies from snake to snake...)
I've been looking at rodentpro.com, and I can get small rats in multiples of 20, medium and large rats in multiples of 10, x-large rats in multiples of 3 and xx/xxx-large rats in multiples of 2. Anyone who's ordered frozen feeders knows it pays to fill the box. I have NO IDEA what to buy. I want to buy based on what she'll be eating over the next 6 months. That's all I've got. If any other information would be helpful, just let me know. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Thinking ahead...
You should never have to feed prey larger then small rats so I would just order some small rats if I were you.

Obviously my title isn't bringing people in...
Really? Small rats are the largest a BP will ever eat? That's only a notch up from what she's eating now... Does the fact she's female change anything? Won't she be able to eat much larger prey eventually?

Re: Thinking ahead...
I only feed my largest female med rats, the rest get smalls... But it does depend on the size of the smalls. At some places smalls are the size of meds and some the size of crawlers... ill get a gram wght of 1 of my small rats if you d like.

Fully grown ball pythons...females in particular...CAN eat larger rats. But if you want a healthy weight and a consistent eater, the best thing you can do is limit their food intake to one small rat every seven days. Stick to that, and they'll rarely miss a meal. ;)

Ball pythons are binge eaters ... if you stuff them full of too much food (ie. medium, large, and jumbo rats) sooner or later they will fill up and then refuse food (fast) for an unknown period of time. By feeding small rats weekly, you'll meet all of your snakes nutritional needs and keep them healthy and eating weekly.
I never feed any of my ball pythons bigger than what I call a "small small" rat ... as you can see from the pic below ... they do fine.

Hope this helps.

That would be great! I plan to go with rodentpro.com (unless someone knows of someplace cheaper) and with the consensus: buy small rats. Do rodentpro's small rats measure up?
Thanks a lot folks, I really appreacite it :)
P.S. If anyone else in the central Indiana area (I'm in West Lafayette/Lafayette) wants to fill a box, let me know. Perhaps we can work something out. AIM sn is "cheese3103".
