    probe placement
i have an accurite thermometer in my tub, and i have the unit on the cold side, and the probe on the warm side. the question is where should the probe lay? should i bury it in the substrate or lay it on top of it? my little girl likes to curl around it and mess with the readings...

I like to place the probe in the warm side hide. You can bury it under a little bit of substrate, or just leave it loose. The warm side hide temps can often be quite a bit warmer than outside of the hide.

ok thanks. i do have the probe in the hide, but i didn't know if it was better to put it in the substrate to get an accurate reading. i'll take her out and the temp will go from like 95 to 90 or 91! i appreciate the help. thanks!
