    Quarantine Process???
Can anyone give me some tips/suggestions/advice/pointers regarding new snake arrivals and their quarantine process???

I plan on adding to my collection with an 06' male pastel I have on hold with Adam @ 8 Balls as well as some possible 07' CH baby bp's from the lottery Michael Cole is having.

Currently my 8 month old female (who has a clean bill of health) is in a 20 gallon tank but I'd like to eventually move everyone into a rack system. How long would I need to keep everyone seperated? Do I need to keep the new arrivals in a seperate room? Are there general antibiotics that can be given as a precaution/preventative, especially to the bp's coming in from Africa?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I would reccommend keeping the new BP(s) in another room for around a month. As for meds, I don't know.

Since you have snakes comming from different sources, I would quarantine the one from Adam in one room and keep the WCs in another.

I live in an apartment! so since it's so small in my place, i keep my new snakes at my moms house! new snake and my already established snakes don't share anything! i keep it like this for 3months! i have a 32qt rack set up at my moms for any new snakes!

of course people with houses don't do this.......i'm someone will add too this!

    Good luck!

I would at least have the CH babies seen by a veterinarian and tested for internal parasites and look for external ones. Treatment for internal parasites is pretty easy, I've only had one that had them (my first ball python) and he was treated with two doses of panacur, two weeks apart.
