how often do mice/rates have lilones
Just wondering how long the process is for them like starting after a litter is droped, how long before another litter drops? any ideas?

Their gestation period is around 20 days.

wow, those lil jack rabbits lol, wish snakes would reproduce that fast, then again, the value prabbably wouldnt be half as much.

Gestation is 20 days, then figure in 5 weeks of nursing, then a resting period before being introduced back to the male, then start the cycle back over again. So, you're only getting one litter from a female every 12 weeks or so (3 weeks gestation, 5 weeks nursing, 2 weeks resting, and another 3 weeks gestation - IF she gets pregnant right away)

Mine all run right around 1 month between drop and next drop........roughly....

we rest ours as well. we introduce the male to the females approx 1-3 weeks after they've weaned their pups. (depending on the size of the litter they had... larger littlers are 2-3 weeks, smaller litters are 1-2 weeks)

You don't separate the mothers from the males so that they can rest after the stress of carrying and nursing a litter?

I rest mine as well. Since having two of my own children, I guess I'm a little more compassionate about motherhood and the stress involved carrying and nursing young.

Its not a good idea to seperate mice. They usually fight but rats is a different story.
