How important is it to know your bp's sex?
l say Rocky is a boy, but I have no idea! I could take him to the vet I guess to find out, but is it important if you have no intentions of breeding? Are there any characteristics that are important to know about one sex or the other? :snake:

Nope! If you don't want to breed him/her, it doesn't matter at all. Males can occasionally have sperm plugs, but other than that they're pretty much the same. :)

Yeah, if you ever see one, you're lucky. I've had my male BP for about 6 months and have yet to see one.

My boys pass them all the time...i dont know if that is a good thing or not but i always find them with the poopie. My vet said there was nothing wrong with finding one or 2 with each poo but then again , he is a little odd. (he keeps possums and sherews)

The sex isn't important unless you plan on breeding, or you feel your snake is having a complex by having a name of the opposite sex. ;)

Just to let you know... females can pass some odd stuff too. This was passed by my female, prior to being exposed to any males.

In general, females snakes tend to be on the longer/heavier side.
