    Melamine question
Just wondering what sizes melamine shelving comes in width wise. That would be a lot easier for a rack than dealing with the 8' by 4' sheets unless they will cut those for free. Gotta get started on a rack soon and I'm using melamine.
    Thanks in advance

The home depot Will cut it for you. Just figure out the cuts befor hand. It ends up being cheaper getting a whole sheet and getting it cut then getting the shelvs.

remember the 4x8 sheets are actually 49x97 which is an inch longer than 4 feet and 8 feet. Double check that they will cut first because no stores around here will.

Oh ya, I know that size thing. I have the saws available but I'm just not sure what widths the shelves come in. If they have em wide enough for 41 qt. tubs that would be awesome

Well I found an O.K. price on sheets for $24 each while home depot and lowes ask $27 something each. May have to reconsider making a rack now if back heat won't work on cages

they dont make the shelving planks big enough fro a 41qt, you have to either buy the big planks or use more than one shelving plank per shelf, also if you go to lowes and tell them so and so sells this for 24, they will match the price and discount 10 or 15% ontop of that.

Maybe. See I have to buy 10 sheets to get that price which is fine by me because I'll use that many eventually anyways

the small pieces here are 23"x47" @ $9 a pop. It takes 4 of those to get a single 4x8 sheet which is $24. I really doubt back will work for a 41 qt. rack. Belly heat all the way

If you are trying to save money, use those big plastic christmas tree tubs. A friend of mine made a small rack for his out of melamine and some 2x4's similar to the one I made for my 41 qt. rack.
