    won't use hides
my girl is growing fast and i had to up grade her hides. she was using paper mashea (sp) hides that i made. yesterday i put 2 clay pots with a small hole chipped out and sanded down. because of current events in my life i am unable to get her new hides any time soon. to be honest i can't see whats wrong with these hides they're the same kind most people use. i guess my girl is just a pre-madonna. can any body help me help her please, as always any advice will be appreacited.

Just give her a few days. Sometimes it takes them a little while to adjust to change. Remember, their lives move at a VERY slow pace. ;) I'm sure the new hides will be fine. :)

well its been about a week and she still won't use her hides she goes in themn and lays for a bit and comes out. she doesn't seem stressed, she sleeps behind onje of the hides, she hasn't refused a meal (ever), she's not moving around or trying to escape. her temps are 92-warm side 84-cool side hum 40-60% (depending on when i mist) her tank is 4' x 2' x 2 1/2'. should i be worried or is she just weird?

You could try some other sort of hide and see if she prefers something different. But if she's eating and not acting otherwise stressed out....I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Try the plastic plant "saucers" from WalMart. Usually found in the seasonal garden dept, they have plastic pots that look sort of like clay pots. The water "saucers" for these come in various sizes and colors, and are only like $.47 and up.

I use them for both my corn snakes and ball python, and they all seem to prefer the low ceilings.
