Working on My Ball Python Set Up
Okay, I'm a futures first time buyers of a Ball Python. So far i have my 20 gallon critter tank starter kit. right now my main concern is getting the temps right. I have A UTH on the Left side of the tank with a heat lamp above that with a 75 watt bulb in it (recommended from the pet store) I also have a hide in the on the same side (warm side). in the middle of the cage i have a good size water bowl that came with the tank. For bedding i have aspen which i was told is best because it dont stink.
Also i am going to cover up 75 percent of the top screen to help keep heat inside and i also have an extra light bulb that i may use to put a moon light in a night because the room that the python would be staying in has airconditioner in the summer time.
any other suggestion or recommendations?

You need another hide on the cool side.
Re: Working on My Ball Python Set Up
Steer away from the bright light, and just run a moonlight 24/7.
Ball pythons are secretive, and a bright light 12 inches above their head could be a source of stress.
Also, you want to use a thermostat to control the heat pad. There's a lot of topics related to this already:
