Re: Any candy-cane pics?
Jen,
I'll post mine up later. I actually just got done with a big photo shoot of some of our "other" snakes, not balls, for a new page on our website. I haven't put the pics on the site yet, but I'll post one when I get home. To tide you over, here is one I took about a year ago when she was a baby.

Re: Any candy-cane pics?
Cool! I am learning now how to tell them apart from regular Amels.. it is funny; I laughed when I would see newbies make mistakes regarding BP morphs, and call them by the wrong names, or such.. now I feel like I am a newbie again (in another field) hehe.

How do you tell them apart from regular amels? I mean I can see the difference between this snake and my sister's but are there "rules" to telling the two apart or is it always this clear?

Re: Any candy-cane pics?
My take on it is, the white on the CC pops out and there is a huge contrast between it and the red.. whereby the amels are more orangey in between.. but please don't take this as a gospel truth, and correct me if I am wrong :)

I wouldn't be the one to correct you at all, and that's what I was thinking I was seeing. :) Thank you Ginevive!

Re: Any candy-cane pics?
Hey Jen,
Here is the pic I took on Saturday. She is almost 2 years old now, and hopefully will be breeding next year. I love my Candy Cane. She might be the most vibrant snake I own.

It is my understanding that CC are simply amels that have been selectively bred to produce the CC apperance. They tend to have more of a red and white and lack the yellow and oranges.
