What will they eat?

Will a ball python eat a mouse that is already dead? Not like F/T but if they get out and find a dead mouse, is there a chance that they will eat it? :worry:

I already have a thread about Lilly getting out, but I needed this to pop up new...I'm really worried about her. :depressed I just remembered that my mom had a really bad mouse problem a few months ago. For a long time she was just catching them and dropping them in a field several miles away (she doesn't want mice in her house, but she doesn't want to kill them either) but eventually there were so many that she had to posion them :( I have been tearing the house apart looking for Lilly, and when I got into the water heater (it's inside, in a room that Lilly could have gotten to) I found a dead mouse.:sniff: I'm scared to death she is going to eat something that is going to make her sick. I have thrown away anything that I have found, but I can't find everything (obviously since I can't find her:no: ) Anyways, how much of a chance is there that she is going to eat this stuff?

She didn't get fed last week or this week, and I know they can go for a while without food, but she has a very good appitite, and has slammed the mice I have given her when I fed her the last few times. I hope I'm just worrying too much, but it scares me that she will get really sick and die. :tears:

I don't think she'd eat it if it's cold and stiff. You never know, though. :confused:

Just keep looking and more importantly, listening.

So this thread came off as a bit more desprate than it should have. I kinda freaked when I saw that mouse, and I'm talking about my girly! ^_^ And yeah I'm hopeing thats how she sees it "Eww....their cold... ":weirdface

Well I have about an hour to keep looking, then I have to go back to school. I have been absoultly shreding the house though :P If I don't find her today I just hope my mom finds her when they get back :tears:

Is there any way you could stay later? I know class is a bad thing to miss, but getting Lilly back is important too.

Let me preface by saying that I am only quoting what I was told by a local herp petstore owner and former science teacher.

I caught a wild ratsnake in my parents' workshop/greenhouse a couple of years ago. My parents had put out poison for mice, and I was concerned for the snake's health. It was regurging, and I was worried. The store owner, where I was buying mice, told me that the regurge was probably caused by a parasitic infection, and gave me something (probably Flagyl) to treat it. He went on to say that the poison used to control mice is not harmful to snakes, so the snake could have eaten the poisoned mice without being hurt by the poison. After treating with the Flagyl (?), the snake thrived, and I released it the following spring.

I wish I could have, I'm already back :tears: This is probablly the most important semester of my entire collage. Not exagerating....after this semester I have to apply for the professional school. *eeps* I really can't miss any. I have left plenty of places for her to hide and a couple bowls of water for her. I can only hope for the best now... *sigh*
