    MY BP is a vegetarian
Well, we have had him a week but he hasn't eaten since 3/12. He is a baby from a pet store, so I would think he would need to eat. We tried to give him time to get used to things but he is still not eating. This time we moved him to a separate enclosure but he has the mouse close by him and he is ignoring it. We are going to put him in his tank to see if he will eat it in there.

The only other thing I keep thinking is maybe it is too hot? How long do you guys heat your mouse? I put a couple cups in the microwave for 2 minutes then put the small mouse (still in the baggie) in the cup for about 3-4 minutes. I felt it and it felt warm and gushy.

Does he still just need more time?!?!? How long can he go without food?!?!?

    Any help is appreciated. :(

We did move it around but that kind of freaked him out more. How long should I give it before I try live?

A BP not eating can be related to husbandry so try to narrow it down a little it would be great if you could answer some questions

How big is you BP and how big is your enclosure?
    What are your temps?
    Humidity?
Do you measure them with a digital thermometer/hydrometer
How tight are your hides, do all the sides touch his body.
Has he ever take a meal for you before?

Some BP will take F/T some will not so keep that in mind also.

When it comes to F/T this is what I do I thaw the prey at room temps it allow to prescent the room enticing my BP to eat then I warm up the prey with a hair dryer for about 30 seconds

most pet shops will tell you anything to sell you a snake. not saying they where doing that but i know most do. as long as your temps for his tank are good and he's healthy he should eat you might want to try live and see what he dois

It is a 40 gallon which I realize now is pretty big. He seems to do well in it. He moves around mostly at night or early morning to go to the cool side. I have an under the tank heater and his bed feels really warm. It has been very humid here the last week so that is good about 50. The problem is that I am not sure how to measure the heat. I have both thermometer & hydrometer but both are on the glass. Am I supposed to measure the glass bottom or the air? The air temp ( on the glass) is about 80 on one side 70 on the other. The small hide does not touch his sides. There is another large one that he tends to lay on instead of under. I am going to try to get some matching ones this weekend. I didn't know they should touch his sides though.

Sorry that is so long. I am just really picky about my pets and need some help!

Added to say I can probably add some pics if that would help.
