    A sad day
Just got home to see that my guinea pig gave birth to what looks to be 1 still born baby since it's really small and 1 live baby but it seems to be paralyzed. It's alive but can't move and is just laying next to Hope. :(

Poor mama. I had a feeling something was up since I had not seen any kinds of kicking or movement in about a week or two.

Any idea's on how to put the paralyzed one to sleep? Something that is quick and painless?

So sorry to hear about the babies! :( I would watch the paralyzed baby very closely to make sure that it is indeed paralyzed and just not moving a whole lot(do babies normally move a lot?.) If so, I would defintely end his misery and put him in a C02 chamber.

Yes Anna babies are born hopping/wobbling around right away. This little one was completly limp and didn't move when I picked it up. It's natural instinct would to be to "get away".

I just put it down. :( Man that was hard!!!

Well, at least he's at peace now. It's good that you didn't let him suffer. :( :gj:

    Hi Lily-

I haven't been online too much since DD hasn't gotten her python yet, but came here this morning because I was wondering about your gpig. I'm so sorry! Unfortunately there is a HIGH mortality rate with gpigs giving birth, because the babies are so darn BIG compared to the moms.

How is mom doing? Keep a close eye on her and make sure she's eating and drinking okay. Did she pass the placentas?
