How long is a dead rat good for?

We killed Monty's rat and he didn't eat it. How long after we kill it should we wait before we throw it away?

Throw it in the freezer and it should be fine for a while.

It has been dead for 4 hours. Can we try again or is it bad now? My husband doesn't want to put it in the freezer.

If its stiff i wouldnt, thats just me.
This is why i usually dangle it in front of them first, if they seem intrested, then ill whack it.

That's what we did but he didn't take it the 2nd or 3rd time either. He is stiff so I guess we will get rid of it.
