Home for the Holidays: A PetCo Story
Well, I'm home for Spring Break. Auryn's with me--and so far, so good. I don't have the internet at my house, so I'm writing from my parents' restaurant. Anyway, Saturday I went to PetCo to return the ExoTerra small rock hides(they were too small!) and get some medium sized ones. When I brought them to the register, the woman there asked if they were for geckos.

I told her that I had a Ball Python and she said: "Oh! I clean their cages and their water...have been for years. I've never fed them, though!" (so I'm assuming that she gets someone else to do that.

Then she tells me that her daughter got a BP from PetCo about 7 years ago...and that all she fed it was goldfish. Yes, goldfish. Right out of a cup of water. The woman said it was the only thing her daughter's BP would eat. I was aghast...she then said that it lived for a few years, but was dead now. I didn't know what to say. I didn't really feel like giving a lecture on the proper care of Ball Pythons, especially considering her daughter's BP was already dead...but good grief. I seriously hope she doesn't suggest to people whose BPs aren't feeding to try goldfish!

That's all for now! Back to work ;)

That lady either was full of $%*! or she didn't know a ball from a garter. I can't see an imprint feeder like a ball eating gold fish. It wouldn't view gold fish as a prey item.

I'm pretty sure she might of ment Goldfish the cracker, no BP in its right mind would want a live goldfish, BP's are smart enough to know their food items don't come from carnivals....

**shakes head sadly at the story while drooling gently at the thought of a family restaurant**

We had a woman once who's corn snake ate a chip (erm french fry) off her plate smothered in ketchup - sometimes animals can be just as dumb as people.

Either that or there are things in ketchup I want to complain about.
