    Odd Behavior
My male 2002 Ball Python has not settled down in a few days. He is constantly out exploring the cage. My temps are right and I have two hides.
1 Month ago ate and acted normal.
    2 Starts breeding.
Since then he is off feed and will only relax if he was with the female when not locked up.
3 Now he is constantly out exploring the cage even when placed with the female.
    What should I do?
    Thanks
    Trey

Sounds to me as if he is looking for his lady friend. I may be complety off here but that would be my guess.

He lives right below his girlfriend. Could he sense that she is there and be trying to get to her?

Yes, he can probably smell her. They have good senses of smell. The Barkers discuss this in their book, and say that some snakes won't eat if they are kept in the same room as a particular other snake. They apply this to males, but it sounds like it could definately be the case here.

I placed him in the cage with his girlfriend and at the moment he has calmed down. It is crazy what a girl can do to a guy.

He has been with the female all day today and not a word out of him. They are not locked up. He is calm and hanging out in a hide.
