    Color of Poo
    Hello!

Haven't been on here in quite some time, but my Medusa is doing well. =) Eating like a pig and generally pretty good when we handle her. Sometimes she gets moody and hisses at us. Does anyone elses' snakes do that too?!

anyway, my real question is about her poo! Why does she sometimes poo white poo? And then other times, she poos brown poo? I'm just wondering why there are two different colors.

    Thanks!

Glad to hear things are going well. :) Yes...sometimes they will have their moods.

As for the poo....the brown stuff is "poo" as we understand it. And the white stuff is "urates"...which is a solid forum of urine. (they also pee liquid stuff, too. ;) ) All perfectly normal and healthy.

They don't defecate every single time they release wastes. MOST of the time, you'll just see urine and/or urates. Some snakes poop every week...some don't poop for weeks at a time. Just depends on the snake.
