I was off to the vet first thing

this morning... Zoey our Sharpei mix puppy got biten by something last night. I freaked out this morning when I saw her. She couldn't have gotten into anything because she sleeps in our room and the baby gate stays up so she can't wander the house at night. We think she was bitten by a Hobo spider. So I rushed her to the vet this morning. Heres what I woke up to

She got a benedryl shot and a steroid shot. The swelling has gone down a lot. She isn't having any trouble breathing so she will be fine. Now if I could just find the culprit, knowing that its living under my bed :O

shes allergic to something. My Rottie is allergic to ceder and dogwood pollen.

Maybe she tried to eat a spider and it bit her? Glad to hear she's okay.

Probably got bit by a spider or something. I know when my dog use to snap at bee's and finally got stung one day her face looked like that as well.

Wow maybe this is a spring thing, that's two dogs owned by forum members that have gotten bitten/stung just in the past week. Glad your pup is going to be fine and you got on top of it right away. Poor puppy! :(

Buy some of those glue traps and set them where the pup is unable to reach them.They will catch them little snots! We have those brown recluse(spelling) spiders so now every spider DIES except the daddy long legs.The reason they all die is the brown recluse are breeding with others:eek: .Sorry your pup got hurt :(

I am almost 100% sure she got bit by a hobo spider. I am gonna tear my bed apart and find that little sucker. I am not afraid of spiders, I have been bit by one and it ate a hole in my ankle. But my husband is terrified. 100 bucks says he sleeps on the couch tonight lol.

Although I can see where her eyes have been affected by the bite reaction (unless it's just more pink from the photo), she's so cute in the second shot.

The pinkish color was part of the swelling I think. It had actually turned a bluish purple color.

I am happy to report that she is back to normal though, we just got back from her walk and she was her normal self. Her jaw is still a little puffy but the swelling is gone. Shes sleepy puppy now lol.

I'm very sorry about what happend to your Zoey (i have a zoe of my own!) but she's adorable in the last picture
