    Question about floor substrate heaters?
    Hello,
I just bought an 8" by 8" heat mat for the bottom of my bp's habitat. Where should I place it? He's got one main hide with a smaller one near by, should I place it underneath the smaller hide? Any opinions or advice would be great. Also, what are something that I could do to add to the environment for my bp. Are the any cheap options out there? Thanks everyone.

it wouldnt matter where you place it as long as your snake has a hide on both the warm and the cool side.BP's dont require any fancy steups, just 2 hides, heat, water, substrate, and you're good to go!!

    Thanks for the reply,
Also, should I allow adequate room for my snake to feed? It's still very young.

Make sure it is on the outside of the enclosure, not in it. You also need to control any heating source with a thermostat or rheostat.
