    Question about Abbreviations.
    New to the snake world and was wondering what the abbreviations meant and a couple of other things. Like CH and so forth. Also what does 1.0, 1.1 etc mean? Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Question about Abbreviations.
    The numbers are ways of noting the sexes of the animals and how many of each...

    male.female.unknown

    1.2 would be one male and two females
    0.3.4 would be zero males, three females, and four unknowns

    CH = captive hatched...which means the mother was caught in the wild while gravid..and her eggs were hatched in captivity. OR the eggs themselves were gathered from the wild.

    CB or CBB = Captive bred or captive born & bred....which means the parents of the animal in question were already in captivity when breeding took place.

    WC = wild caught...meaning an animal in captivity that was taken directly out of its natural environment.

    LTC = long term captive....meaning a wild caught animal that has been in captivity for a long time.

    ....just to name a few...

    CB Captive bred
    CH Captive hatched, mother was caught gravid in the wild and offsprings are hatch in captivity.

    The first number is the number of males in a group, the second is reserved for females and the last number is reserved for unknown or unsexed individuals.

    1.2.3 = 1 male - 2 females - 3 unsexed
