Haha you beat me to it I was going to post this story. It was interesting read I am glad that the workers realised that there were illegal snakes in the cargo.

It's amazing how people can be so callous as to destroy what's left of an endangered group just to say "OH, I've ate that". Hopefully they catch the guilty parties. The more endangered some species it seems the more they are sought for such selfish reasons.

Humans have a thing about taking wild animals' homes then eating them, i dunno what is with that.

It's one thing to hunt, altogether different story to push an endangered species to the brink!!:(

Disgusting. I'm sickened by the ignorance of some people. What's also disgusting are these "Rattlesnake Roundups."

whats even worse than that is the folks in India who are "snake charmers" defang their snakes so theres no danger of getting envenomated. I recently heard about this and was thoroughly disgusted.

what gets me is the way they were treated, crammed into 'plastic sacks'

Just a link from that page. It talks about endangered turtles and the eggs being eaten for male virility and pregnancy related ailments. Do we not have enough products floating around to help both of those problems?
