Since when do prego girls stuff themselves into water bowls? (No mites.. maybe she doesn't like the new aspen?)

My gravid girl has been hanging out in her water bowl off and on also. She's displaced water and soaked her tub several times. I think it's partly due to their need for increased humidity, and partly that being pregnant need to relieve some of that extra weight and pressure. (of course I'm not sure of the last part... just me remembering my pregnancies and anthropomorphizing... )

Hm.. maybe I'll give her tub a little extra spritzing; though, now that her water was displaced into the aspen, it is set up perfectly for a humidity raise.. maybe she jsut wanted to do it herself? :)

Call me crazy, but shouldn't the water bowl be big enough for the whole snake to soak in?

    Great pics by the way!

for a breeder size female that would be a big water bowl.

I don't recall seeing any major breeders using larger water bowls for their snakes but I could be wrong.. I am not sure what I would even use if I went bigger; this is the largest heavy "crock" dog bowl I could find!

    You're crazy. :P

Now that's out of the way, no you do not need to have a water bowl big enough for the animal to soak in. Bps should not soak with any regularity, and if they do then it's likely there are some issues with that snake. (ie. could be a meal that was too large, mites, or inadequate humidity)
