    Heating
what heat lamp should i use that can be used with a medium size heat pad? i dont want anything that will give off TOO much heat and end up wasting a lot of energy and overheating my snake... thanks!

most of the time you dont really need a heat lamp.most snakes will do with a heat mat as long as you dont over heat them.

i was having trouble keeping my cold side at 82. it was staying at about 72. instead of adding another heat pad, i got an infrared zoo med light (50 watt) and use desk lamp (with an adjustable neck). now my cold side stays right at 82. perfect.

but like they say, belly heat is best. i just used the lamp because:
    -its cheaper ($7) and
-hes never on the cold side anyways!
