Re: Why? What's the point?
Okay -
So i built it for the lids to be on... why????
Well, at the time, it was all about escapees - I didnt want to come home to find that a thousand dollar snake is missing.
NOW, im ticked that I did it - for exactly the reasons you stated. Pointless, just pointless.
I promise you this - the next set of racks that are coming up this season are going to be a topless design.....

woohooo topless! :carrot:
Re: Why? What's the point?
Lids on helps maintain humidity.... at least where I live it is VERY dry. I wouldn't have them any other way. Each to their own. :)

Good point! I live in CO too and I do have a slight problem with keeping the humidity up in my adults' tubs.

Wouldn't it be more more harm on a snake to rub against wood then plastic?

Well, if it's melamine then it wouldn't make a difference.

What harm could come of that? I'm willing to bet they come across more more wood objects in the wild than plastic. Not trying to call you out just interested in what your thinking is.
Re: Why? What's the point?
I have a suggestion. You can take a sheet of pvc or other material cut it to size and mount it to the rack where the lid of the tub should be. Voila, now you don't need your lids any more.
