Regurg

Gabe, my young bp, just ate his first mouse since I bought him a few weeks ago. Last night he regurgitated said mouse :( . How long should I wait until attempting to feed him again? Thanks!

I'd wait atleast a week, And try something smaller. I lost a young ball from a regurge a few weeks ago. Keep a close eye on him.

Yes allow a week or so. Regurge is hard on their little bodies.

Poor Gabe :(. I was so proud of him.

This happens just let him recupe. And try again best of luck.

As a follow up question... I feed Gabe in a separate aquarium from his regular home. I know they should not be handled after feeding, but I picked him up briefly to return him to his home. Could this have been the cause for the regurg? Should I just leave him in the feeding tank for a day before handling?

I'd give him two weeks to recoup. You can feed him right in his normal home. If you feed him in a different tank because you heard that feeding a snake in it's cage that they will associate your hand as food, is not true. It's just a myth.

Ditch the feeding tank and just feed him in his normal enclosure.

You need to wait at leat 2 weeks so your BP can rebuild is stomach fluids.

Yes stress can be the cause, however I would also recommend you to take your BP to an herp vet if you did not do it previously, because regurgitation can also be the sign of internal parasites.

Not some much the digestive fluid regurgitation is very stressful on their body it also can and does cause damage to the lining or the esophagus and stomach wall. Allowing them time to rebuild this lining lowers the risk of further complications that might arise.
