    Noob Question
ive been reading through posts and ive heard the term flexwatt come up on many occasions... i was just wondering what that means? Also... if your keeping your snake in a dark part of your house where no outside light can reach it... would a heat lamp act as a light source too so you wont have to need outside light and you can just leave it on for 12 hours then turn it off? thx

Flexwatt is heat tape its the same as a heat pad but is thinner and seems to work much better its also cheap and easy to use so lots of keepers use it you can find out more about it at Reptilebasics.com. Also you dont need light as the snaekes primarly live in burrows so you could just heat with flexwatt this will also help with humidity becuase heat lamps suck humidity out. Also make sure you use a thermostat. You might consider a tub setub if you have Qs PM me Good luck

tub setup refers to plastic tubs, tank setup refers to glass fish tanks.

yes you can you flexwatt or an under tank heat pad made for reptiles. use a thermostat to regulate the temps. proper temps is probably the most vital thing for success with ball pythons. no additional lighting is necessary.

Some people like to use light cyces when breeding for kepping them its not neccersary. Yes, you can only use flexwatt it is the same as a uth basicley. A tub setup refers to a setup using a rubbermaid container of a good size. It is the setup used by most breeders and Expert keepers. Balls seem to feed more readily and be less stressed out in that setup. I will be moving mine to a tub becuase they also keep humidity and heat better. Hopefully someone will put up some pic of thier tub. MAbey RAB will help?

yess if people can post pics of their tub, that would be great and help alot! and also if i have a tank setup would i need 2 acurite thermostats (one on the cool side, one on the warm side)? would i also need a hydrometer to measure humidity or is the thermostat a hydrometer itself?
