And we're outta here!

And Foxy's first litter of fourteen (doesn't look like it, but the whole pile is there). She had seventeen, two died the day they were born and the third I think she culled the next day. Five days old. Karl wants to keep two that look like her, problem is the only three light colored ones are all males - why couldn't there be some girls that were lighter???

Until one bites you hard when you're cleaning the cage and you decide that that one is a perfect size and introduce it to the CO2 container and then subsequently the freezer...:D

Ah, but there lies the problem with rattie babies - they aren't particularly known for biting the hand that feeds them......off! LOL

Ack I got bit right on the knuckle by one of my momma rats the other day...dang but that hurt! Cute bunch of little stuffed sausage babies there Robin. Your momma rats are certainly doing good jobs raising and nursing them. The all black litter is gorgeous! It's wonderful to see the females in such good shape, nice body weight and shiny coats. Obviously they aren't having any problems supporting their litters while still maintaining their own good health...good job Robin! :)
