    another stab at reptariums
from the past posts i have gathered that it is dificult to keep proper humidity and temp in one of these mesh tanks...but has anyone given them a try? temp i know is a non issue because i have the ability of setting up temp zones above and below acurately but also as far as humidity i have heared of ways to keep it more humid even though its mesh...is this all bs or has anyone had a successful venture with them?

Well, if you've been reading past posts and seen the problems people have had with glass aquariums, what makes you think mesh is going to be any easier to heat or maintain humidity levels. Maybe if you encase it in plastic or glass it might work, or just buy a plastic or glass enclosure and save yourself the aggravation. Go with what works!

What do you mean temp zones above and below? Are you talking about setting one up for a ball python? Because they are not arboreal, so it's really a cool side and a warm side zone on opposite ends of the enclosure at ground level.

No, no one that I know has been able to successfully keep a ball python in one of those and keep humidity at 50% all the time during non shed and bumped to 70% during shed.

Is there a particular reason you'd want to use mesh over a tank or tub (I personally prefer tubs, because they keep heat and humidity perfectly, on top of not being so open, which tends to stress out ball pythons.

Reptariums are a poor choice for a snake.. heat and humidity just.. leave. lol

They are made for chameleons mainly.
