    another great day
Well just got on fedex website to see that my helix has been delivered! I am having someone pick it up from my house and bring it here to me at work for safe keeping:P

It will be used to run my bator. To make the day even better, I talked to my friend's dad who is doing the wiring for my snake room and he may be able to do it this weekend and I can get started on insulating it. Best part of all, he said he would do it free and get the parts free from his company. Bad part, I have to dig a 90 feet long trench to put the wire in:( Oh well, herp room here we come!

You're kidding, right? I mean, you're not seriously considering paying someone such a stingy amount so he can help you put in a ditch for your multi-thousand-dollar snake collection?

Gingerly stepping down off my soapbox...........

At least go for minimum wage, eh? Call it charity if you like, but consider how it will help their families who are probably far away and depending on regular checks to help feed their children and maybe--if they're lucky--send them to school.

Oops... steps *back* down off her soapbox and creeps quietly away....

haha not literally a dime an hour, but if I hired U.S. workers to do this it would be proabably $10+ per hour to find someone willing to do the work...at least! I was just saying that the foreign workers down here work for less, but in all honesty it was a joke, I am doing the digging myself.

Hee hee! (Wiping her brow in relief and blushing in embarrassment.)

That's good to hear. I guess I knew it wasn't *literally* a dime an hour, although you never know--maybe labor is even cheaper there than here in NC.

My friend owns a landscape company and a separate office cleaning company, and he hires Latino workers quite a lot. He pays them very fair wages ($8+ an hour, depending on their experience and responsibilities). He likes to work with them, though, because they work harder than most American workers, and with less complaining.

So I'm certainly not opposed to hiring foreign workers to do your digging. :P Just so long as it's at a fair wage. :D

Enjoy your digging by the way. I can't wait till we get pics of your rep room. :D

they are not only foreign, but illegals here. We had hundreds and thousands of illegal immigrants coming from Mexico looking for work in the aftermath of hurricane katrina
