Flexwatt/heat tape n00b questions
OK I'm currently using a tub setup for my first bp using some zoo-med UTHs and I plan on buying some more bps this summer at some local expos. I'm planning on building a small rack system (no more than 4 tubs at the most) and I'm interested in using some Flexwatt but I have some questions.
1. What size/how much would I need for a small sterilite tub? I currently have a small UTH on the cool side and a larger one on the warm side because the room my bp is in can get pretty cool sometimes. I'm assuming I'd need tape on both sides?
2. Is it applied in large squares or strips from one end to the other?
3. Do you tape it to the bottom of the tub?
4. How do you connect the tape to a power source/cord?
5. For a small rack system, how do you wire the tape so that you can slide out the tubs without disconnecting the heat?
Any pics of the bottom of a tub with heat tape would be useful. Thanks all.
Re: Flexwatt/heat tape n00b questions
if its a rack the heat tape or uth would actually be attached to the rack not the tub.
Re: Flexwatt/heat tape n00b questions
if you want to order a rack at a decent price you can check out nsreptiles.com, or if you check out the caging forum, there should be some do it yourself rack threads
