I feel your pain :) I brought my first BP home on Friday. Leaving 'em alone is so hard...but I think it's probably best to let your boy settle in for the week before you handle him/feed him. Just so he's used to you being around and he's used to the environment.

Just wait. That was good advice from the pet store, surprising to say the least.

Your snake needs some time to settle in. A ball python's environment is EVERYTHING to them...let her settle in for at least a week, try to feed her, then after a couple of days, you can start handling her regularly.

Last thing is a stressed BP. Stressed BP's could lead to not eating and then you got more problems. 1 week is worth it, trust me ;)

contrary to what everyone else says, i was told to handle mine ALOT right when i brought him home. he didn't seem to mind, and has yet to refuse a meal. (has been fed 6 times since i've had him)probably best to follow the advice you get on here, but i really think it depends on the snake's personality.

yep, sometimes you get lucky :)

a BP's number one concern is security, so you need to make sure it feels secure in the new territory before you mess around. the only way it can tell if it's in a secure place is if time goes by and nothing comes in and grabs it.
if you put yourself in it's place mentally, you'll make the right call :D

It is a hard long wait those first week(s). Just remember if you treat him good you will be handling your BP for many years to come. Thats means letting the little dude settle in. :)
