Can the snake catch my cold?
It sounds like an infantile question put like that... but I want to be very, very safe. I suppose a stupid question is cheaper--and less traumatic--than a vet bill, right?

So, anyway, my strong suspicion is that Sammy Python *cannot* catch my cold, but all that my intrepid googling turned up was a bunch of information about what *I* can catch and nothing conclusive about what Sammy could catch from me.

So, is it safe to handle him while my nose is dripping?

And what about if I get a flu or other human illness? When is it *not* safe to handle the snake (safe for *him* I mean)?

Thanks for clearing it up for us. :)

Thanks, Shelby! Sammy came out and hung out with us a bit last night. :)
