Re: Your BP success stories
Here are some of mine!
-Finding out that the "male" I bought for $40 as a full-grown adult from a reptile show, is a female!
-Seeing my new Pastel male breeding every female I put him with. :)
Re: Your BP success stories
Seeing my 450g lemon pastel male lock up for the first time, and running around the house letting everyone know :)
The subsequent locks have been just as exciting, but without the running, haha.

~hatching my first clutch last year
~how much my collection has grown in the last year, and how much we'll be "gettin' done" this year!
~finding out that a nice petshop around here will be carrying high-end morphs, and will be very interested in purchasing anything I hatch this year.
Re: Your BP success stories
playing mighty white hunter after my baby ball escaped her duct-tape and window screen covered enclosure (damn you, MacGyver), placing plastic bags all over hell and half of Canada, and waiting in the dark to hear the slithery little rat-eater...

-my first lock(pastel x normal). those pics were everywhere(including here)
-how much my collection has expanded since then

Re: Your BP success stories
I guess it's Saoirse. It still always a joy to open her tub and see her in there all happy and curled up and in such nice shape now. Even better to get her out and she acts like any other snake, checking things out and not balling up in fear any longer. Mike and I were so worried to take her on being inexperienced with W/C adults and one that was in bad shape and not eating but she's been a wonderful blessing.
The other would be Brannagh and for much the same reasons. We didn't believe Brannagh could ever be a snake that anyone could handle easily. We just hoped she'd become safe enough to manage and give her at least some decent chance at a life in our collection. To see her now, huge and beautiful, hanging out with Mike and I, totally relaxed and not a bit of a problem....well that's still a miracle to me!
Re: Your BP success stories
One of my coolest experiences was watching my first snake I ever got, female BP, lay eggs and then have them all hatch out (8 for 8, not bad for a first). THEN, the next cool thing was watching two of her daughters from that clutch lay eggs and have them hatch out 3 years later. That was a lot of fun, especially because her daughters also delivered us our first mojaves :). And in addition to that, we still have two of the mojave daughters and one of them is already just about 1000g, so she is looking good for breeding next year. Every clutch is fun, but the ones from the line from my first female are a little more special.
Hatching pieds out for the first time was pretty amazing too!!!
Great thread by the way, indeed keep them coming!!!
Re: Your BP success stories
Watching 5 out of 5 eggs hatch from my first BP's first clutch after maternal incubation.
Seeing one of my BP's make a complete turnaround after a heat stroke that brought him dangerously close to death, with a bad prognosis from my vet. When I found him the day of my space heater accident, four other snakes had died and he appeared to be the same when I first saw him. He had no tongue flick, excessive amounts of fluid in his mouth, and his body was stuck in an irregular position. He has eaten twice for me since the ordeal.
