The year for getting sick..
Argh.. it seems like me, and everyone I know, are eternally sick this season. First for me, it was a few head colds; then, a sinus infection with a cough every minute or so.. then I had a nifty stomach flu that I am still getting over.. combined with another sinus infection! And I can't even take antibiotics because I am allergic to them.. what misery. I am up at this ungodly hour just because I need to blow my nose every 5 minutes and it is bothering the heck outta Mark, and I can't sleep anyway b/c of that.. anyone else sharing my misery?
My family, friends and coworkers are always sick this year too.. and I talk to roughly 50 people a day from all different states at work, and it seems like half of THEM are sick too!! What is this world coming to?
Re: The year for getting sick..

*Hugs*
I went in to the doctor to talk about my test result with some of my specialists and I've been coughing for a few weeks, not really feeling that sick, just kinda off and on coughing. Turns out I have "walking pneumonia". I feel your pain Gen.
Re: The year for getting sick..
I've fortunately managed to avoid getting a cold/flu so far this winter *knocks on wood*. I'm sorry to hear you're in rough shape. Hope you and all your loved ones get better soon.

Cool to not be sick.. I will try not to spread any germs via Internet. :)

Re: The year for getting sick..
A couple schools closed on a Friday a couple weeks ago to disinfect, because so many kids were sick. One of the classes in my son's school had a whopping 6 kids show up one day, and one went home sick. Everytime I'm in that school, someone is in the health room vomiting. :puke: Ewwww.... Luckily everyone has been pretty healthy in my house (knock on wood), but I fear it's only a matter of time before 'it' or the strep that's going around invade my house. :bolt:
Hey Gin, do you have a humidifier and decongestants going? It's gotta be rough not being able to take something most of us take for granted. I can't take decongestants, so I can sympathize a bit. Humidifiers, Vicks Vaporizor Plugins, and a saline nasal spray are good alternatives. (I can't stand the nasal sprays and found that Vick's also makes a nasal inhaler that you can use as needed that works wonders!!!)

Re: The year for getting sick..
Yuk! I think I have the strep; but I have no fever, so maybe it is just an RI.. if it were one of my snakes, I'd have it at the vet right away! But myself, I can weather it out I guess.. Robitussin helps the congestion!
Re: The year for getting sick..
The strep that's been going around here has not had the normal symptoms, so I wouldn't rule it out.
Mucinex (without the degcongestant for me) ROCKS! Also get yourself a humidifier going. I've decided we need to monitor our humidity levels too. It's worked great this season keeping my daughter from getting her yearly croupy cough. They also have these cool things you can drop on the floor of your shower that release head clearing vapors. Plus you get to stay in the warm shower longer!! Maybe try some of the cough drops as well. :petting:
