weaning time

is 50 grams a safe size to wean the rats from their mother? I usually wean the entire litter around 3-4 weeks of age but i lost track of age on some litters and I'm not sure what weight would be good because 50 grams does kind of seem small but some feeder sites ive seen have their weaned rats listed at 30-45 grams but it still seems small and they are still feeding off their mothers.. thanks for any help! :)

Oh those little leeches will nurse off mom till the day you drag them from her LOL. Are they all eating food and using the water bottle? Do they look the right size and body mass for a ready to wean young rat? A lot of times I have lost track of the exact age of some of my rat litters when I have a lot of them being born but by now I've weaned enough of them I can pretty much eyeball a litter ready to go to the grower tubs.
