    Like cats and dogs..
We are watching our landlord's doggie for the week; her name is Sadie and she is a mixed breed, still a puppy. Any ideas about what she could have in her lineage?

Now, I let Inky, our cat, see her today; let's just say he was less than thrilled. Apparently, Inky hates dogs.. no one was hurt here, and I was ready to step in if needed. These two had met before and were fine.. but not today!

    "hi, kitty-cat! want a kiss?"

Nope! More like a HISS! For safety's sake, Sadie is staying in the upstairs apartment.. no need to put them through agony.

I did think I saw a little of a Dane look to her.. she has a really wrinkly forehead. She was a shelter rescue.

She looks like she has some pit in her- as far as coloring and coat texture and wrinkly forehead and broad cheek area (under the eyes).

I disagree on the pit possibility here.I have a red nosed pit and a staff/pit and this dog has to small of a head(AKA blockheads). Here is a pic. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ourkillers.jpg

I agree that the muzzle is all wrong, Joe. But put your finger over it and block it off......look familiar? LOL...

Seriously though- it's just a guessing game. I have always had fun with these- I was an animal control officer for years and our paperwork insisted on us naming the breed of whatever we picked up....so you learn to get creative...

P.S. Pits are one of my favorite breeds and you have some nice looking ones there!

She reminds me a lot of a Ridgeback.

Ridgeback is a good call....the ear set and shape of the eyes.

Another that came to me was Shar Pei...the sandy colouring and wrinkles, maybe mixed with Lab.

Does she by any chance have a sandpapery textured coat on the fine skin around her lips and chin?
