housing boas together feeding question?
im new to this board so hi!
i have three young female boas, now ive had other boas and balls.so i have snake keeping experience, ive always housed my snakes seperate, being same sex hatchlings, adults or otherwise.
now with these youngns i figured theyre siblings, all female no probs right?!
so today was feeding day, i pull them out seperatly, and feed them in a seperate container.no probs.
one of them must have smelled really strong like food because after they had all ate and were all back home the other two tried to eat the one that must have smelled like food!
they didnt strike, just attempted to bite and swallow!
they are feed f/t.
these are also the first snakes ive feed exclusively f/t.
obviously ive got them seperate housing now, but how scary that was!
anyways sorry for the novel, anyone ever experienced this?
or similar?

Valuable lesson for anyone that is thinking of housing snakes together regardless of the species.
Hopefully this will make them think again.

they are all fine. the one has a couple very small "pokes" on her which i washed with some nolvasan, and will continue to watch but shes fine.
they are now housed in 20g tanks fitted w/acrylic tops to make them a front opening setup.
never again will i attempt to house any species together,my heart cant take it! lol.
thanx all for the welcome!

Welcome; I am glad that you learned from this and seperated the little ladies. :)
Re: housing boas together feeding question?
Welcome to BPNet. Glad the snakes and you are all okay from this awful experience. It may not have been any smell of prey remaining but rather just left over hyped up hunting instincts at play or a dominance issue heightened by a feeding response. Whatever it was it's a valuable lesson learned that housing any snakes together, other than temporarily for breeding purposes, can lead to disaster.
